Precinct Committeemen. St. Clair County has 224 precincts. In 2010, only 64 precincts had a candidate for Republican Precinct Committeeman. No Republican ran in 160 precincts.

 

2008 Presidential Race. In the 2008 Presidential election, the county supported Democrat Barack Obama 62-37% over Republican John McCain.

 

2004 Presidential Race. In the 2004 Presidential election, the county supported Democrat John Kerry 55-44% over Republican George W. Bush.

 

About St. Clair County. St. Clair County is the first county established in the state of Illinois. Its existence actually precedes the state of Illinois as it was established in the Northwest Territory in 1790. Its county seat is Belleville, Illinois.
