Illinois State Senator hosts mock assassination of President Trump

.

Illinois State Senator Martin Sandoval hosted a golf outing on Friday where at least some of his guests participated in an obscene mock assassination of the President of the United States.

.

The participants were so proud of their work, they took photos.

.

.

The disturbing incitement to violence happened during Senator Sandoval’s $250 per person political fundraiser at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield, Illinois.

.

Sandoval dubs the event: “The Cirque du Sandoval: MAS Golf Clásico.”

.

Sandoval is of course a Democrat. His state senate district covers the Southwest Side of Chicago and parts of other municipalities in suburban western Cook County, including Cicero and Burbank.

.

Mark Maxwell, Capitol Bureau Chief and Anchor at WCIA, the CBS affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, broke this story Saturday on Twitter.

.

Maxwell followed-up on his story with responses from Senator Sandoval:

.

“The incident that took place is unacceptable. I don’t condone violence toward the President or anyone else. I apologize that something like this happened at my event.”

.

And from Governor J.B. Pritzker:

.

“As our nation grapples with the epidemic of gun violence, purposely pointing a fake gun at anyone is insensitive and wrong. I condemn actions like the ones displayed in the pictures because they lack the civility our politics demands.”

.

Note of course, no actual apology specifically to President Trump and his family in those weak boilerplate, cover-your-ass statements.

.

And of course, no directive to others in their party to stop it with all the hate.

.

Yes, I’m sure Sandoval and Pritzker are sorry. Sorry that once again the Democratic Party has been caught red-handed trying to normalize hate and violence against the President and his supporters.

.

And I’m sure that Martin Sandoval is especially sorry that his chums are stupid enough to pose for pictures inciting violence against the President of the United States.

.

The man pictured below in the checkered shirt, Sandoval’s arm draped around him, certainly looks to me like the same man who is pictured performing the mock assassination with what’s presumably (hopefully) a fake gun.

.

Not to excuse of course the despicable acts of at least some of Sandoval’s supporters, but it’s easy to see where they would get the idea that it’s perfectly acceptable to behave like lunatics.

.

The hate in the Democratic Party flows down from the top, that’s as true in Illinois as it is on the national scene.

.

Governor Pritzker regularly hates on President Trump and parrots the same old “he’s a racist” narrative. Pritzker knows it’s all a big lie. He doesn’t care.

.

And when citizens complained about the State of Illinois paying Snoop Dogg to perform at the State Fair last week, a rapper who has also visualized Trump’s assassination in a video and even portrayed Trump’s corpse on a gurney with a toe tag, the Governor wrote it all off as “political satire.”

.

Stirring up hate and division is Pritzker’s only goal. That’s all any of the Democrats have these days.

.

Senator Sandoval goes even further. He of course also pushes the “Trump is a racist” lie, but he has also pushed some really kooky nonsense about Trump and Russia.

.

After President Trump met with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki last summer, Sandoval said this in a statement:

.

“The pathetic, groveling way the president carried himself in this meeting cannot be explained without the assumption that Putin has some type of dirt on Trump or Trump has some sort of investment in Russia.”

.

In other words, not only is Senator Martin Sandoval a hater, he’s also a reckless, crackpot conspiracy theorist.

.

Too many Democrats seem unable to control their hate. They’ll claim otherwise of course, but the goal of their hate stoking certainly seems to be to encourage some lunatic to carry out something horrible and for real against this President.

.

Such is the level of their unhinged frustration with being unable to beat President Trump at anything on a legitimate basis.

.

Enough is enough. State Senator Martin Sandoval must resign immediately. This one isn’t even a close call. Any Illinois politician who won’t join that call should resign too—and that goes double for all feckless officials in my own Illinois Republican Party.
