A panel of federal judges has tossed a Republican lawsuit that challenged the Democrat-drawn map of new Illinois legislative districts.
The panel dismissed the lawsuit by House Republican leader Tom Cross (R-Plainfield) and Senate Republican leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) on Wednesday, and the Republican leadership is deciding whether to appeal.
The judges decided that the Republicans were not entitled to a trial on their claims. The court had previously dismissed other counts in the lawsuit against the Illinois State Board of Elections.
