Texas Governor Rick Perry continues to fall behind in the polls. In the Simon Poll, Cain earned first place with 23.4 percent of the votes. Romney took second place with 20.6 percent of the votes and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, whose campaign has experience a recent surge in momentum, finished in third place with 7.5 percent of the votes. Texas Congressman Ron Paul finished in fifth place with 6.6 percent of the votes.
