The Peoria Journal Star can look foolish if it wants. But when they also help play the old Tom Double Cross with Ronald Reagan’s legacy, it becomes a concern for all of us.

The latest example of the liberal mainstream media’s failure to ask the obvious follow up question comes courtesy of Illinois Radio Network’s News Director Jim Anderson.

The Pantagraph’s gushing editorial on Sunday was just the latest demonstration of the non-stop love affair many Illinois newspapers have had with Jim Edgar since he left office in January of 1999.

Dennis Byrne’s latest editorial takes aim at those Illinois lawmakers who last week turned their backs on 30,000 poor black children and their chance at a better education. But while Dennis Byrne rightly takes the GOP House Caucus to task, he then inexplicably singles out its leader Tom Cross for praise.

Joseph Ryan of the Daily Herald wrote today: “So for all of Palin's star power as a former vice presidential candidate whose autobiography recently dominated the best-seller charts, many Republicans running for office in Illinois are not jumping up to meet her.”
