Other organizations may talk about the Republican committeeman vacancy crisis in Illinois – but the Republican Precinct Project is the only organization actually working to solve the problem.
The Republican Precinct Project is the only statewide organization dedicated to recruiting, assisting, and electing dedicated Republicans for the office of Precinct Committeeman across the State of Illinois.
How serious is the crisis? Consider this. In 2010, 3,265 Republicans were elected to the office of Republican Precinct Committeeman. But incredibly, no Republican even ran for the office in 3,440 precincts! That means there was a 51% vacancy rate. This is unacceptable.
The goal of the Republican Precinct Project is to:
- Provide the education and tools to dedicated, pro-GOP Platform, hard working volunteers, and empower them to become Republican Precinct Committeemen.
- Increase the percentage of precincts with a candidate for Republican Precinct Committeeman from 48.7% in 2010, to 80% in the 2012 election.
